Last weekend I endevoured to remove the decals from the Hood on my 96 Sj and the paint started coming with them. I picked a really hot day figuring I wouldn't have to use my heat gun which, like all my tools is 4000 miles away.:banghead::banghead::banghead:
I know this was an issue with the paint on the RN's I was wondering if anybody came up with a solution to removing the decals without ruining the paint.
I used 3M adhesive remover and a razor blade on the rest but I was able to peel the decal first and then just deal with the glue. The hood is a different animal. Would the decal removal wheel work good here or just gum up with the overdose of glue Yamaha seemed to use.?
I now have a battle scar on the left side of my hood on an otherwise unmarred machine.:17:
