Its not really a Negative but just not the way I would of handled things.....
So I see he buys a BOB RTR right before I try to make a deal with the Seller (not keep up), No big deal so I missed out on what I thought was a good deal.
Then i notice that he makes a coment that the ski is too much for him. So I PM him asking if he wants to trade for my modded 2003 Superjet. I send him pictures I tell him EVERYTHING done to it. I tell him Ill tade my ski plus cash just name your price. He tells me on the phone he is thinking $2000 plus my ski but he needs to get his friends imput because he doesnt know anything about these skis. I say ok and for him to call me back. He does in like 10 minutes. He says he would do 2500, my ski, and a lifejacket (because he doesnt have one)(instead of giving him any old jacket I have I give him my favorite pull over jet piolt jacket) but it had to be done by Friday AM (this was Thursday Afternoon). I said the only way I could do that was to pay him via PayPal the $2500 Before I even see the ski( I know risky on my part). He agrees I pay up (10 minutes after we make a deal). So I run 1 hour each way to get my ski from Smith Lake off my dock so we can trade. I decided to ride my ski for about an hour so i could say a proper goodbye to it and make sure it ran right before the deal. Load it up at dark and drive back to B-ham.
Friday AM we meet up. I noticed that when I loaded my ski I snagged the steering nozzle with my tie down strap and pull the trim cable out of it crimp connector. I tell him before we even look at swapping each other skis. he was fine with and I must have appologized 10 times for this happening. He was fine with it. So we trade. I am soooooooo pumped to have a BOB1.5.
Well he calls me 3-4 hours later saying my old ski isnt running right that there is a bog at low speed sometimes. He couldnt tell me what he was doing to recreate the bog. We went over everything that could be the problem. But it was nt anything we talked about over the phone. I said it might be as simple as adjusting the low or high air/fuel adjusters on the carbs (but he had no clue what I was talking about). He says he wants to discuss it with a friend of his that knows everything about these skis. I said ok just let me know. He calls back and says his friend said it could something very simple or something very complex. He said his friend said not to keep my ski to trade back.
Now he starts saying that he knows nothing and wants his BOB back and wants to refund my money. . I really wanted to tell him to go pound sand. After I calmed down a little I said you know what if you dont trade back this guy is going to be a ROYAL pain in butt FOREVER! I never even got a chance to ride the BOB. I guess thats a good thing because I might not have traded back after riding it.
It was against my better judgement to trade back but I did. He did bring my ski to my house and refunded me back my money including the Paypal fees (that I paid in the first place) and my jacket but it was short 5 bucks, he said he couldnt come up with the last $5. I was soooooo mad about the deal I just wanted him to go away so I said fine just give me my ski back. He said for me to text him on Sunday if I rode it and found an issue and we might trade back again. This was Friday.
So Saturday afternoon I get my ski back in the water (had some family crap to do). I could get it to do it every once in a while but it was at such slow speeds that I was almost falling over. I did bring in the low air/fuel adjusters and swapped the plugs. then went back out and rode it again and tried for 1 hour to get it to do the very slow speed bog the this guy complained about but couldnt. So I texted him and I didnt hear back from him at all. Then I see on Sunday he selling the ski for $7500 on here for a ski he bought for $5500.
I dont want anything from this just a heads up on who you might be dealing with.
