Super Jet Dead crankshaft?

I just about want to throw up right now. Flywheel bolt came loose, punched through the stator cover. When I pulled it apart this is what I see on the front of my crankshaft. Any hope at all?

Chuck's advise is to file off high spots, use a new flywheel and lots of loctite to get me through till winter, then get the snout replaced. That definitely cut my day short yesterday!

I would smooth it with sandpaper then lap the flywheel on with valve grinding compound, but that's me.

You're lucky it wasn't worse honestly, that's not that bad. I had a flywheel weld itself to the crank back in my 440 days after the nut loosened up but have never had the problem since I started lapping them.

That's good advice. I probably could have avoided this if I had lapped it in the first place- worn flywheel on newer crank = trouble.

You'll need more than lapping to remove that gouge mark.

I would use a flat file like Check said on the snout high spots with a new flywheel, woodruff key and bolt too for a quick fix.

Also your front seal is leaking and SBT cranks are 200 bucks.

i agree with the lots of loctite but if you put on a new flywheel and it fails = damaged new flywheel
id clean it up good and loctite the snot out of it w new key and bolt untill you can have some down time to do it right

For sure: file and lap. That's an 8mm stroker crank too, hence my level of pain! I noticed the front seal - I'm sending this motor to Chuck this winter for a general healthcheck so I'm not too worried about that immediately. My goal right now is to be riding for the rest of the summer and deal with all this properly in the winter.
