Daytona Riding

I am plannind on comming to New Smyrna/Daytona in a couple of weeks and was wondering if I need to buy a permit, or if there is a spot where I can free ride in the ocean without hassle?

you can ride in the inlet only without a permit. IMO it's worth the $25 bucks to beach launch.

I would be glad to spend $25 to ride, what is required to do this?
