Dan Lamey 48s

I can get my hands on a set of 48 mm Dan Lamey Mega Flow Power Bar Venturi Monster Carburetors how would these hit for low end freestyle or are they all made for superstock race boats. Just wondering what you think they are worth alone and would it be worth it or to run a single 48. Thanks. Steve

I ran a set of Lamey carbs on my SS super jet. They worked very well and were a huge improvement over the 46 buckshots that they replaced. Great bottom end and very responsive. If you can get them reasonably, go for it.

Buckshots are for wide open use only, they suck for freestyle. Stock aftermarket Mikuni's always work very well when set-up right, I never had the chance to use (Lameys) and run them...I was under full sponsorship with NOVI and FULL SPECTRUMS, with that I stayed in the nest and have outstanding results with them! The 3 jet systems I run with my special set-up engines run really good too..SRE's also worked well for racing, but I haven't used them for freestyle, so I have no input on them lately.

I have a friend that has Dan Lamey modified SBN 46's and he loves them. They have good snap off bottom and great top end. Those would prolly work great if you had the motor for them and the price was right.
