yea i was thinking about just putting the front one in i really just want a little extra pull when im jumping and i think i will like it. does just the one give you more control in the air?

Oh yea IMO. I need it now.

I seem to only use it on re entries and suicide subs (trying to hit bottom and enter 100% vertical-it keeps me on the ski). Or if I am just riding around.

yea, they work fine... it really bolis down to what feels best and workes best for YOU! Some use just footholds, others straps and others yet, a front foothold rear whatever- combo. If you have mats, you can install the straps just fine and it'll look sano. Depending on your install, you may have to pull the mat back and reglue after the install. Good luck.

the best way to mount straps is to epoxy down a stainless steel plates around 2.5x2.5x1/8" thick. once your epoxy cures drill and tap for the bolt size you want to use. im using 6mm bolts. use rtv silicone to seal the holes you drilled into the tray. you can do this with existing turf just cut out the area that the plates will go and glue those peices back on before bolting the straps down. not the best looking but it works.

straps are not a waste of money, i NEED both straps to ride now. they help in every aspect of surf riding.

Cut a spot in the turf and epoxy them to the tray.

The plate method works good too but it has to be fabricated.

right on 5-O... think Idok did a write-up something like that. Nick also has a write-up about it expoxing washers w/ acorn nuts. If Drew does have a mat and not turf.... it's pretty easy to peel it back and do whatcha gotta do. Me personally, I peeled mine back, epoxied an aluminum plate with holes and screws facing upwards... then glassed it down and then punched them thru the mat to meet up with the holes in the straps (measure 3 times... punch ONCE!)... then I used acorn nuts to top off the screws. Prolly overkill by a lot of peeps estimates.

By what I've seen from how Idok installed his, Its really easy once you epoxy those nuts onto the tray. Cut holes just big enough to clearance the nut, then epoxy it in, and replace the hole you cut out, cutting a small hole in the center so the nut is the only thing showing. After that, you can remove, install, and also replace broken straps - without having to redo your turf jobs, because you have the nuts to install them.
