Super Jet D-cut plate, shortened pole??

Location
Utah
I recently threw a d-cut plate on my RN. I like the control at slow speeds and the back end feels much more free. But, I do feel like I'm falling off the back even more than before due to the back end sitting deeper in the water.. It felt like this before but it seems worse. I have a -4 pole I'll be throwing on my ski this week. I'm hoping the shorter pole corrects what I'm experiencing, any feedback?? THX

It will be 100 times better with the shorter pole. You will be able to actually stand in the front of the tray, which will put weight over the nose. You'll jst have to learn the timing of shifting your body forward.

I ride with a d cut plate, a -3.25" pole and strait bars.

I'm 5'10", my pole is -3 And it still feels to long. However, I race and freeride my Superjet. -3 gives me a good balance between the 2. I'd like to go -1 with my steering and call it good. I feel like 2 or 3 more inches would be better for flatwater or surf, but I'm not sure and I'm not going to try.

Not sure what you have for mods, but power to pull out of a tail stand makes up a lot for being too far back. Also squating to get the weight off the pole makes it easier to pull out.
