Our dealership recently purchased a new Serv-equip boring bar and all related Ammco hones. We have boring and sleeving capability. We are dealer for Wiseco, Pro-x, OEM Yamaha, Kawasaki, Tigershark(when available), and WSM pistons. Retail price for cylinder boring is $70.00 per hole, $60.00 for x-h2o members. Sleeve replacement is $140.00 per hole+parts. All honing and chamfering included. The man standing behind the boring bar has 19 years experience boring powersports engines, both 2 and 4 stroke. We have daily UPS pickup and delivery, shipping is not a problem. PM me with inquiries.

That is the approximate going rate out here. We're also using new, very high quality machines. Pricing is certainly relative to quality.

I payed 145.00 to have all 4 of my sti cylinders done at my machine shop. (machine honed) Hell i have all the ball hones, and stone block hones for every bore. I usually charge 45 bucks to do dirtbike and jetski cylinders. 45deg hatch.

Just because your neighbors kid will mow your lawn for 5.00 does not mean you should expext a gardening business to match the price. You will always find somebody who is hurting or is paying very low or no overhead or worse does it at his work on his spare time. That does not mean that that price should be the norm.

The going rate here at pretty much any machine shop is between $40-50 per hole ,I don't trust them to do the job properly, thats why I use my cylinder guy.

Terry may also have many more shops in his area...more competition = lower prices.

Apparently you have never been to this area ,there is nothing here, and I do mean nothing, you want anything here you have it shipped in,you can't buy epoxy resin here, have stuff powdercoated, anodized or chrome plated here and all of the decent machine shops are long gone, luckily I have people.
