cylinder identification

hello
i got this cylinder from a friand of mine ,and he said its from the 90's
bore is 82mm
distance between top ex port to top deck is 36mm
cylinder case length 123mm
didnt measure the ex port width ,but it looks at the max
can anybody tell me what brand is it ?
what pistons should i use?
where the power band will hit?
what cylinder head ?
thank you all
yigal

Dude that sure looks like an old "Lamey" cylinder to me.:cheer2: This is good as they are expensive. Dan Lamey designed these cylinders back in the 90's. Many were used in the old Mod race class until they changed the rules. Then the freestyle riders found out that you could make major power without you cylinder cracking all the time.

Can't tell you much about the motor with out knowing what is was originally made for. If it's a race cylinder from the mod class it will likely make big power in the high rpm and be set up for flat tops and race gas. Might even be a stroker who knows.

Do a search for Lamey and you'll come up with all kinds of info. Your best bet is to get ahold of one of the good engine builders so you can figure out what you actually have.

82MM?

Looks like it hasn't been well taken care of.

From what we see, it is a stock stroke/1MM over bore, using a Yamaha piston.

You would be far better off getting a new billet cylinder that is PV capable than try and ressurect that cylinder, or try and find something in better shape.

That engine design is not really used much anymore.

Definitely a Lamey/Racers Edge/DASA cylinder

It will accept any style 701 head.

thank you all, now ring gap and cylinder port

thank you
very much helped a lot
the cylinder bored to 83mm with wiseco round top ,and i have noticed that the piston ring gap is moving over the cylinder port .
it seems that both ring ends will hit the port bottom or top edge,as it expends every time it passes over the port .
is it a problem?
does anyone know what piston is used over so many ports?
could a bad landing from barrel roll could cause engine damage with this setup?
thank you

You will need to use the Kawasaki 750 pistons with the smaller 20mm wrist pin diameter.

If your cylinder is at 83mm the next size up will be 85mm for those pistons.

piston wrist

thank you #0
using smaller dia wrist pin will reduce piston and ring mechanical side force ?
or the the ring stop pin are locted in a diferent way?

Using the smaller diameter wrist pins will allow you to use this cylinder with the Yamaha rods; If you have a stroker crank with Kawasaki rods you can use either the 20mm or 22mm wrist pin pistons, depending on the rods used.

piston ring

thanks
sorry, tha cylinder was decked from the bottom end to oem 61x cylinder case hight.hope it will work
and what about the piston ring end getting snapped over the port edge?
