Somebody did it on a FX hull, looked pretty sweet. You could just cut the entire wall off and make it kinda like a 3D.

Remember your losing foam doing this

i may be cutting into my square nose too so that i can fit some xft footholds in, not as much cutting as you intend to do but enough that the back will be closer shaped to a roundnose topdeck. once the footholds come in then i will know exactly what i got to do. as for your idea, do it, i love seeing people cut the ******** outta their hulls.

I wanted to shorten the bottom hull a little like geek did in his build but i dont think you can do it with the top deck still on. I was gonna do a top deck conversion, but i dont have the money so..

actually i got rid of my rear exhaust too, we cut circles outta 4" dow foam and pounded them in one after the other until the exhaust void was filled then glassed over.

my thought was to leave the original foam in place. cut the sides to shape and form a lip for the turf, then lay a layer or two of glass on the outside.

then remove the old foam, and reinforce from the inside.

RMBC put this idea in my head. I think we both agree this would be the best way to try, but I'm open to suggestions.

yeah, that sounds right. id do it like that too.

Did you do it?

Can you explain to me how you were going to do it? I don't understand the part where you are going to reinforce from the inside?

You mean this...?
1) Cut side of square
2) Remove foam
3) Reinforce Side from inside with glass
4) New Foam
5) Grind down a lip and glass over foam for turf to meet lips edge

Does this sopund right to you guys?

If I'm going to repaint, I may as well do thsi now if I decide to. No sense in wrecking a paint job to do it next year.

No..

1) Cut side of square
2) Leave in foam to act as backing for topside glass
3) Shape as needed for turf, etc then Glass over top of rails
4) Remove Foam
5) glass inside for strength
6) refoam
