I figured that may be the case. I am not bagging on ya, I've actually thought about the very same thing more than just once. (I got a stripped square hull in ma garage right now!)

However, I think it would be too much work to get it to look right, for little real gain.

Do it. I really want see how it turns out. I can't imagine it would be that much work. You'd just be glassing over your foam.

Take some good pics. I have my SN stripped now to for reinforcement, round pole, hood mod, footwells, etc. What you are thinking of doing is one thing I have concidered.

Make the lines sharp and SQUARE! Not curvy and rounded. This was my vision dammit and now you've gone and blurred it!.... :soapbox: :cool2:

my thought was to leave the original foam in place. cut the sides to shape and form a lip for the turf, then lay a layer or two of glass on the outside.

then remove the old foam, and reinforce from the inside.

RMBC put this idea in my head. I think we both agree this would be the best way to try, but I'm open to suggestions.

well - I haven't ruled out the angular look yet - I'll draw that tomorrow and take a pic and post it. The angular way would be easier to turf - but I'm thinking it would be more difficult to lay it up with straight edges as it will show every imperfection.

Do it!! That's exactly what I'm doing to mine when I get past the hood and nose work that I'm doing right now. I had the same thoughts on leaving the foam in and doing two layers then removing foam. Get busy:Banane01: :Banane01:
