Cutting rear of SXR for trim

Don 79 TA

Still Fat....
has anyone cut the back of the SXR where the bow eye hole is to increase the trim travel?
Just wondering how far and how it is done
we are thinking about doing this to her ski this winter

I did mine but havent put my trim on yet lol. just found the center of the tray, marked 3" to either side, and used a protractor to draw a half circle, then cut it out. this winter I'm going to round off the edges to make it look cleaner, as well as new turf

I cut a chunk out of the back but left the tray intact.

I did on my sxr. If you are using the x2 nozzle be ready to cut out a lot of your tray to make the nozzle go all the way up. Other aftermarket nozzles are shorter and you can leave the tray alone.

I did mine using a protractor as the outline to follow, they grind the corners out a little bit and it will look great.

did you just put the protractor on the rear edge, mark and cut?

have photos of your setup?

i have some photos here of her setup, although not so clear

you can see how the nozzles are longer

just wondering if it's worth it, will it gain that much more tilt?
she really does like playing around with it and making the ski go straight up

I have to look at her setup again
what setup are you using?
we are using the blowsion/skat setup and if i recall the nozzle hits the rear bow bushing so i think i need to trim that out

what tools did you use to trim it?

Solas Mag pump with trim.

Drilled holes then used a reciprocating saw.

Not worth it unless your coming up alittle short on your backys.

not doing it for back flips, thats not a ski i'd want landing on me or her lol

she's just looking to get more tilt out of the trim

I've heard of others doing it, just haven't seen to many photos of what was done

i was thinking trimming it back, and it looks like i can redrill for the bushing for the tie down

If i do this, i plan on doing the rec foot holds for her, so i'll be re-matting the ski anyway.
