I recently finished modifying 2-1985 wetbikes that sat in their crates for 22 yrs.
They now have custom hand made ski's, carb. mods, exhaust mods. and pump modifications. Polished and waxed the bodies and now they are better than new.
This is how they looked the day I bought them home.Bone stock with no mods, but in brand new condition.

The first bike I started rebuilding I made all red ski's for it.

The second set of ski's I made it red with black stripes on the bottom and black on top .

Installed SS skat trak impellers.

This one has a modified factory rear with a Watercross of Texas Pro-scoop

Made and installed speed plugs in both bikes. This mod is a 5MPH increase.

I'm about the only person around that still makes Speed plugs if anybody ever needs one.

Both bikes have my custom exhaust chambers now.

One bike has the exhaust exit relocated.Sounds awsome.

A good running wetbike is a blast to ride once you learn how to do it.It turns hard and is great for jumping wakes.
Here is a few action shots.

Hope you enjoyed my projects. Check out wetbike.net for more info on the bikes and check out all the vintage vidio's in the media section to see what a Wetbike can really do.

That is a great write up and pictures. I am looking at one to purchase. The guy wants $300 for it with trailer and said that it had a new motor installed about 3 years ago but hasn't been started in 2 years.

I didn't know anything about them and was afraid that I couldn't find any info so that I could work on it. I think I will go by and pick that bike up.

Do you think it is worth the $300 it is a early 80's I think it is an 82. It is all white with a red and black stripe.

The man that invented the Wetbike gave them to his best friend in 1985. The dude died 5 yrs ago and his son found them buried in the very large warehouse about 6 months ago. He contacted the inventor and asked if anybody around still worked on them. He was given my name. He owns a movie production company and now we are working together to make a documentary on the history of the Wetbike . Should be on the History or Discovery channel in about year.

That movie idea sounds cool.
Make sure you put in a good word for the stand ups, Blasters and X2's.

If I saw one in my area for $300 I would take it.
I could get all James Bond on that thing.

Thats a great deal!! Let me know if you need tech help to get it running. I can be found at wetbike.net. It's my second home.LOL Everything you will encounter can be answered there. After you get it running and learn how to ride it, we can get going faster in no time.

I think I will pick it up Sunday if the guy is around. I have been waiting a few weeks to make a decision if I really wanted to mess with it. You just talked me into it.

I am sure my wife will thank you for that.. LOL

Back in the early 80's there was a jetboat called the sundance. I acquired the molds in 85 and built the jet and OB version of it.Kept the hull the same but changed the deck.Wetbike used one of my boats as a base design for the jetstar and the sport star. They cut the boat in half down the middle and made it 6" wider then totally redesigned the deck.Mine runs rings around it because it is so much lighter. Both those boats in the vid I built in 86. I found them both on ebay just in the last yr.The open deck one is the only one like it.All the rest had a full deck on them.Only 48 of them were ever built by me.
The one with the deck I just bought a few weeks ago. It will be my rebuild project this winter.
