Found myself a sweet lil pre-winter deal.
Apparently owner was in some sort of motorcycle accident, hadn't been used in 4 years.

Dirty, cracked paint & stickers are crunchy & crispy. Hydroturf still suprisingly supple. Where I live it's usually 100°F for 4-5 months straight and 110°F for 20 or so days.

Twin 45mm novi, b pipe, 61x/62t, havent checked ignition yet. Cleaned the carbs and new diaphragms and she crackled to life pretty much instantly. Interesting deep scoop grate on it.... seems like it will block water flow and hold air where the driveshaft comes out.

Don't know if I'm going to keep it looking like ass or make it look nice.....

Start with a good mechanical overhaul if you are serious about riding the ski. Post a picture of the grate.

That’s why it’s now a crispy critter! It has big carbs though, that’s all they really matters.

Anyone have pictures of a B pipe to OEM waterbox without a fuel tank installed? My waterbox inlet sits like 3 inches below the pipe exit and i think im going to have to prop up the waterbox with some hydroturf foam?

This had dual exhaust installed so i tore all that out.

I put hydroturf under the waterbox on every ski I assemble for protection. I have a jet maniac waterbox and glued a piece of 1 inch thick undermat on the bottom to line it up with the pipe exit.

i dont see how that is possible. the inlet is perpendicular with the bottom and the exit is the 45 degree angled exit up towards the exit exhaust tube.

I forgot how tight yamaha fuel tanks are. You'd think they would have made them with ½" more inch of clearance on the sides and exhaust hose formation

Finished rough sanding it and stripped out all the foam. It had water ingress thru the bulkhead, the added cooling line with zero silicone ever added, the scupper tube, the driveshaft pvc tube, 1 of the front grate mounts, all 4 pump and ride plate mounts lol.
Oh and the hull had two holes under the exhaust tube from dragging it or something.

I was punished by Karma for the cash money cheapness of this hot mess.

It's too hot here for paint until September, so it's getting glassed and put back together for summer. Nights won't dip below 85 for 3 months.

Reinforced the gunnel bond flanges today and removed the scupper, which was blocked off anyways.
