Credit Fraud

Hi,
Has anybody else had trouble trying to order anything from the Xmetal site. I ordered a waterbox with front exhaust on the 21st of August, since doing so my credit card has been used by unknown persons/s for about £5000 pounds. My credit card company has now blocked the card and will re credit my account.

Im sure it has nothing to do with Xmetal, but certainly by trying to order goods from their site i have become a victim of credit card fraud. Anybody else had this problem.

Wow.... interesting you say this. I recently ordered from Xmetal's site, and while I received a confirmation email from the site saying that my order was processed...... 2 weeks go by and no parts, check my activity on my CC and no charge. Called Pat and he said there are 'issues' with the site and CC orders aren't getting processed, only PayPal orders. Well in the meantime of all this, my CC's fraud company blocked my usage until further verification. Comes out someone was trying to do some esales to a place in Vegas for over $4000 grand on my card. :dunno:

Wonder if this is a coincidence or my Pat's site is comprimised? I'll email him just as an fyi.....

FWIW my card provider for all this is BOA, which their CC portfolio has been stolen before. :banghead: This is why everybody should choose Chase as their primary CC provider.... :sneaky: :cheer:

Who's you CC provider? It could always be issues with them or maybe their card processor. I don't think BOA houses their CM info in-house....

"This is why everybody should choose Chase as their primary CC provider.... " Does Chase do something different?

Goat glad to see you got your money/credit back.

CC is Barclaycard an English bank, I do a lot of shopping on the Net and this is the first time something like this has happened, but I always use my credit card as it covers me for things like this happening.

I can live with credit fraud, more gutted that im gonna have to re order my waterbox/exhaust and wait for it to get to the uk

I am not a big fan of cc in general but I here debit cards give no protection.

True dat... and you don't build credit with them either.

If you have your shiat together there is NO reason not to use a CC. Don't be nieve and use up a free loan because it's there. Use it strictly as a 30 day loan and you're good to go. :cool2:

Years ago I built up some debt on cc. I paid them off about 6 years ago and told myself I would never do that again. Credit is not a problem and I know if you pay them off every month all is good but ...I guess I should check into them again.

I use credit cards for everything, I think they're great (unless you don't pay them off every month, then you're dumb).

I only have a debit card to get cash if I need it, other than that it's totally useless.
