Maybe I'll get it all the way around NEXT time....

Huge intake tract - cool side openings too. Something to think about when I chop up my ski for some customization.

When in doubt, Throttle-out.
Real question, does it work? From fluid dynamics class (not saying I am a professional at Fluid Mechanics) it seems like it would work like a nozzle. Pressure drop/larger area flowing into a pressure increase/smaller area [pump impeller housing].

But again, I am no pro. Seems pretty unique.

this is under the pro that was from dubai, maybe it is the same, just looks diff cause of angle.

I imagine a capturing a bigger pocket of water before the pump can help the pump squirt water longer after ski leaves water.

it must work, you see his routine?

I understand you want the same vacuumed pressure under the boat. A bigger motor is going to want to pull more water quicker increasing vacume. I see how the larger intake volume helps keep that OEM ratio balanced by lowering the vacuumed pressure. I don't understand how the fingering helps other than the increased volume. I could only assume that the same benefit would be had by keeping the same intake geometry and offsetting the profile to increase to the same volume the fingers provide. I know we ride our ski's a bit differently than most, however, 100's of engineers have spent thousands of hours optimizing jet pumps across all impeller base boats/skis alike. I can only assume they know what they are doing. But hey, cant knock someone for trying something different, however, I'm calling BS as far as "improvements" untill proven otherwise.

Don't assume that an end product brought to market is the end all, be all in optimum design just because there was a team of engineers involved. Because there was an even bigger team of asshat managers and bean counters on it.
Ever take a look at stock Yamaha porting?
