Crank Shaft replacement forth coming?

Ok. I own a 1997 Sea Doo XP and I sucked a rope tie down with metal hooks up into my impellar about a week ago. The metal did not make it past the impellar and just hung out. I replaced the drive shaft and it still vibrated when I started it. I then replaced the mid shaft bearing kit and it still vibrates when started. The bearing itself moved about 45 degrees to the left after I started it. Now I am looking at replacing the mid shaft assembly and hopefully that will fix me up. My question is whether or not I could have bent the crank shaft in the process? The machine starts without problem, which leads me to believe that the crank is ok. Im praying its just the midshaft replacement and I will be back on the water. Any ideas on this would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

i would think the splines would strip before the craqnk would get wrecked, at least that is what i have seem happen on the xp's

I have read on other forums that the bearing needs to be aligned with an aligning tool and that is the reason Im getting so much vibration from the drive shaft. Does anyone know about this and have some info regarding how to do this?

Thanks again.

yep you need the alignment tool which is like a mock up pump with a drive shaft in it and then the motor needs to be shimmed to alow the shaft to slide in nicely
never did it myself so i am no expert
