crank seal wth?

pulled the flywheel off my small pin 750sx
my stator was trashed with metal
here is what I found :Eyecrazy:
can this be replaced without cracking the case?

usually not as the seal fits into the groove in the case with some amount of crush..with some luck,a real good degreasing and some hylomar you can get the seal to stay in there if pushed in but i wouldn't recommend it.

Nope pull it apart,I have not sent your WR 500 piece out yet ,i will get it out Monday,if you want me to send a set of crank seals with it let me know ,I have them in stock.

new seals?heck,a little superglue and back out in the h2o.
where did all the metal come from?
bendix,flywheel seem ok?just seal metal?did you have a lot in there?

thats what is weird- there were chunks of metal
that took out the stator
some were magnetic, but bendix and flywheel seem OK . . .

doesn't seem to be much stuff floating in there so it may just be the seal metal.
went around the flywheel and got sucked in by the magnets.presto!
