I am about to put on a new crank bearing. I didn't realize that there was a little sleeve on there too. Is that still required for the wsm bearing? I have now Idea how I am going to get that on there. there is nothing to get a hold of to press it on.

crankshaft rebuilding is more of a specialty service. If you dont have all the tools to do it and also check all the specs on the crank you might be better off having a pro rebuild it.

I'm assuming your talking about the sleeve collar right behind the rear bearing that the seals ride on, yes you will need to get a new one from Yamaha as once it's pressed off by removing the bearing it's no good.
Heat the new bearing in the oven to 225 degrees and it will drop right on, then lube the new seal collar with gear lube (or press lube) and use the rear coupler with a large washer in between the coupler and collar then screw coupler on oiled crank threads and will press it on for you nice and straight.

P.S. This is for late model cranks with the thinwall collar not the early thick collar 650/701 type.
