Super Jet Cracked ride plate fix

I've got a stock ride plate that was D cut. I was messing around today and cracked it in two places so that a portion of it got pushed up and is almost rubbing on my steering nozzle.
If I yank it off and knock the broken area back to being flush with the rest of the plate and use some JB Weld on the cracks, think it will hold?

probably never be strong again... once alum is bent it gains a weak spot... best thing you could do is get it welded where it cracked... you could try jb weld, but my guess is it won't last long...

It won't last, I tried. The ride plate expands and contracts with heat and force, JB eventually pops off. Weld it up. I gave $25 to an auto shop welder to fix mine.
