I've got a crack on a 92 sj I just picked up. It is prob 10 inches long and is on the top of the left gunale and runs down the back. I want to know if anyone has used this stuff with and success. I have zero experience with fiberglass repair.

Thats really just a filler, if the crack moves around at all it will just open up again, fiber glass and epoxy ties it back together , prepping it is key sand a valley were the crack is and glass it if it moves at all or it will keep getting bigger.

Ya, you need to use epoxy resin with fiberglass matting/cloth on that ski. Its top deck is made of metton and nothing else will stick.

I always thought it was funny that marine-tex claims "hardens like steel".... "sands like wood"
WTF?!?! Total oxymoron.
Ya it sands like wood alright, but is not hard as steel. That stuff is for a emergency repair at the lake or soemthing. Its pure crap! :D

Before you go grinding away on your hull, first determine if its an actual crack in the hull or just a crack in the gel coat. From your description of the location its in a very unlikely place for a hull crack. A gel coat crack is a more common supect and is no big deal. Marine Tex is a cosmetic filler and will not work if you have an actual hull crack. Post a pic if you can

227, he's talking about a square nose Superjet. There is no gel coat at all on a square nose.
The bottom deck is SMC with paint and the top deck is made out of Metton, which is a engineering plastic thats formed in a mold and its also painted too.

open it in windows paint then "modify the pic"(by adding a random tiny black dot somewhere on it so that its a slightly diff pic) then click save as. When you are typing a name to save it as..right below that it allows you to save it as a jpeg.

crack way too big for marinetex, it is only good for surface spider cracks
epoxy and glass is the way to go

I am hoping that I won't need to refoam. The ski has been sitting for about 3-4 years in AZ here where its stupid hot so I'm thinking the foam is going to be dry. it didn't seem like it was super heavy in the tray area.

I would chop that busted area all away and refoam atleast that section. Then lay a few plys of a quality glass cloth over foam if your not going to do holds. That is a pretty damn bad crack, that marine tex isnt going to do S__t for. Where did the hull come from? It almost looks like water got in there and froze causing the crack.
