Super Jet Cooling dilema for a newbie

So my new baby just showed up (701 61x) and i noticed a problem right off the bat. problem for me NBD for most of you guys. MY new motor only has 1 cooling provision on it, my old 650 has 4.
So questions
1 can i just swap the head over from the 650 to the 701? (doubt it)
2 should i just have someone drill and tap provisions?

Someone else will have to chime in if the dome size is adequate for a 701. My guess is no. Why not just pick up a cheap set of taps from harbor freight and drill/tap a hole for another cooling fitting. Cheap taps dont really work for steel but theyre ok for cast aluminum.

Some protec pipe that came with the 650 i also believe it was setup with a flow control valve the solenoid is in the ski but the module has some busted wires so its sitting in a box. (more than likely will never hook it up)

i used to run the ski in a small private lake when i was in lemoore and rarely had a problem with it overheating, after a few hours of riding it would start to get there though. But now im up in modesto and theres a few rivers around here and lake Melones both of which will be cooler than the previous lake i was in

I think you may run into issues going from 6m6 cylinders to 61x. I think the exhaust outlets are smaller on 6m6. I may be wrong, and I probably am, but that may be a bit of restriction. Your motor may not perform as it should

No big deal there, just Dremel out the exhaust manifold on the pipe to match a 701 gasket.

For the head just drill and tap one extra water outlet. No need for 4 off the head on a stock motor.

Somebody either had a real strong running wot based 650 motor or cooling issues and fixed it by adding more outlets.

Even better than adding a cooling outlet would be to bolt on an ADA girdled head(or similar) with higher compression domes since you have that heavy protec pipe hanging off the side of it already anyway.

The guy i bought it from used to race the thing, i got it with GPS going around 50 at WOT. He's actually hitting me up for the Head from the 650 because its ported and polished, im more than happy to trade him since im sending the 650 in as the core. im also going to look for a shop around Modesto, CA that will port, polish and match the exhaust to the head, if you know of anyone....... ive noticed that its much harder to find parts for these standups than say my car, the car i would just hit up Summit or JEGS, this stuff go to Blowsions pay a premium price and find out you couldve had it for about half somewhere else. Right now im building up my bookmarks/contacts

As stated earlier, just line the exhaust gasket up to the protec manifold, sharpie around the inside and dremel it out. No need to take it to a shop if you are comfortable with power tools. They will do the same thing and charge you $100 plus.

You could run the 650 head for higher compression, I have seen it done. Not that I would do it or recommend it.

As for a new water fitting. If your motor is stock, you probably don't need a 2nd outlet on the head. If you already have dual cooling coming in from the pump then go ahead and tap it. I would do it diagonally across from the stock tap. I can take a pic of my set up tonight if you need a reference.

i think the setup that they had on the ski was goofy to begin with. if i remember right the 3 extra outlets are all tied into one line that came off the front of the pipe. another fun part of the ski was it has 3 pissers but only 1 was hooked up the other 2 just had a hose that connected them. im going to tap one extra line in on the front of the motor same spot where the old one was next to the tiny breather tube. what is the tiny line right there, the 650 had a plug over it?
