Whenever I try to open a link in an email, I get a notice saying that Windows cannot find the link, but the link opens up every time, but I have the annoying error to deal with, not a big deal, just an inconvenience.

Can anyone put it in idiots terms on how to get rid of this?

Attached is a screenshot of the error thingy.

Thanks in advance!

I do not know if it works fine on another Vista machine, I know that it just started showing up about a week or two ago.

Here is an edited version of the notice

if all links do this?

my gess is theirs so error in autolaunching IE or FF when you click on a link... but i dont know how to fix it.. sowwrie

Did you download the updates for spybot s&d........also might want to use a free program called Clean IT!.......it removes temp files and temporary internet files.....automatically. If you want to do it manually, go to the temporary internet files folder and delete everything inside. If all your links are failing, it appears that your browser has been hijacked.....Have you tried typing a site in the address bar like www.google.com?

Just re-read your post, when did you install firefox? Also, if you are able to open IE or FF and type a link and go to it successfully, then it appears that the problem is with your email program.....just going on what information I have.....

I installed Firefox the day that I bought the laptop, it has worked flawlessly until recently.

The problem isnt typing a link, it is when a link comes in an email, I click on the link and the notice comes up.

I updated everything before I did any scans.

Do you think that if I uninstalled then reinstalled Firefox it would help?
