compression test on engine outside of ski?

i have an engine on ebay that is out side of the ski and i don't know the compression. Alot of people are asking the compression. how can i test the compression out side of a ski?:soapbox:

Also, i have a 25 dollar compression tester that i just tested my 550 with and got 100 psi in each hole. I don't think it should be that low... can my tester be off?

you test it by jumping the starter with a battery if you don't have a spare ebox and start/stop switch laying around.

the engine is the Negative right? hmmm:scratchchin:

battery hot cable to starter, ground to motor

yep. the positive to the starter will be fun.

connect to the battery last.
