650/X-2 compresion is very low

i have a stand up 1988 kawi 650 sx that i just bought. did a lot of work paint and body wise to it and just recently took it to the river. the thing had no balls at all and when i get home i did a compression test and it only read 105 psi on both cylinders. i was wondering if i put a new set of rings would it help it.? suggestions?

No way to know unless you pull the head and inspect the bores.
