I also am thinking about riding as soon as the ice is out would one just put an adjustable vavle on the pisser outlet then go by feel to get motor temps correct?

rode in sierra nevada snow melt yesterday...about 40 degree water temps. I had to richen up my carb. Motor pisser was running pretty damn cold. Im headed back today and I'm going to restrict the flow by about 1/3

There's several threads on this site on this very topic. Good cold water wetsuit or drysuit, gloves, hot hands mod, possibly hood, tour coat.
Restrict cooling to the motor.
