The fact that it was waterproof and had a fish eye lens made it perfect for so many situations. I was not impressed with the plastic housing and the fact that it made underwater video look out of focus. I set out to design my own with the goal of using aluminum for the body, glass for the lens and stainless for the hardware. Cosmetics were added while keeping the dimensions no bigger that the original. As much material as possible was removed to keep it light. The aluminum is manufactured and anodized at Neal Feay Company here in Goleta, California.
