Everyone likes to look at pictures of people's ski's, so I figured I'd make one of these threads.

I've owned 3 SJ's so far and currently have a mostly stock '14 and the GF rides my old square. So I'm just going to try and post all of this in line of how it went. Nothing too exciting yet, just a bunch of random pictures and some changes here and there on either ski.

Bought what I thought was a stock 1993 650 SJ last spring to start my stand up jetski addiction.

Didn't do much to it other than Bilge pump, new fuel lines, ODI grips and WORX grate. Rode it like that all summer.

At this time I was still a pretty big noobie to the engines and such, still don't know a ton. Learning here and there.

Recently when I was doing some work to it I was looking around under the hood and noticed someone has swapped in a 61x 701 lol. Can't believe I didn't notice but it explains a lot. Different colored exhaust, heat shrunk wires to start/stop, and it runs damn good (for a 650 we thought).

I wanted a little more power, so when I saw this 1990 on Craigslist with a 701 with a pipe, head, etc, I jumped on that. This was before I knew the '93 had a 701 and thought it was going to be a huge improvement in power. There was, but it wasn't anything crazy.

It was in pretty decent shape for its age, but it needed cleaned up pretty bad. I could tell it had been neglected.

I did a bunch of cleaning on it and fixed some little issues and different things the PO had done.

New fuel lines, hood seal, MSD plug boots, Riva spark arrestor, etc.

Began cleaning the exterior. I painted the chin pad with some vinyl paint.

Painted the bottom black.

I hated the "Nomad Express" PAINTED on lettering since I layed eyes on this thing. So I ordered some gloss black vinyl wrap and covered it up and put a piece on the pole as well.

Had to find a different trailer now to haul 2 skis. Found this triple hauler and converted it to a double and rebuilt what I could. It's 100% homemade, but does the job.

Got some of those cheapo 2014 graphics off eBay. They were a pain in the ass to put on, but turned out looking pretty sweet on the square.

It ran pretty damn good, but this was the only time I rode it before I ended up selling it for a new ski. Not because I didn't like it, but I found an amazing deal.

Buddy and I found an amazing deal on some leftover 2014's out of state, so we got up at 3am and drove 6 hours to get them.

All the warning BS off and cleaned up.

This thread probably got even more boring for most of you seeing a new stock SJ lol. I don't blame you, but I love it.

Haven't done much to it yet besides ride it and clean it. Just 4* bars, spring, WORX grate, grips, and steering nozzle mod. Next thing I want is JetTrim. The stock mat is garbage and is soo slick. Also want to try and squeeze some more power out of it sooner than later.

We had a few dealers in Minnesota that where selling '14s right around $6k and '15s for $6500, I think a they where a bit overzealous in their orders. I think Cities Edge is one of the better dealers to buy from.

The pole on the '93 has been slowly cracking, getting worse with every ride.

So we decided to get a Hazard bracket. Stock vs. Hazard

Shortened RN pole. Seller claimed -2" but it seems like more than that.

Got it all together in time for the Lake this past Sunday. This thing is so much more fun to ride now. Must be because the pole is so much shorter and lighter... I can actually do subs on it now. I'm honestly a little jealous of the gf haha. It also looks 10x better now.

That pole doesn't look more than - 2. Seems about right. I'm 5 10 and my pole is - 3 and I'm running OVP steering and riser bars so that's like total of - 8 compared to stock lol and it's perfect. Could even go shorter and be fine.

After last weekend I'm thinking about shortening the pole on the '14. Sucks that I have my registration on the pole though. I'm not sure how hard it'd be to get new State Reg. stickers. I do really like how the square rides with the shortened pole though.

Damn I can't imagine what -8 would be... Probably too much for me. I rode a buddies WDK Rok-R and it was a blast to ride, but not very comfortable. I don't think they're built for comfort though. :)

Looking at those pictures you can easily shorten the pole without replacing the stickers, I just did one that I mixed black dye in the resin when I put it back together and you could never even tell it had been shortened.

It's nice to see some Nebraska pictures! That "nomad express" looked so much better without that lettering, Andrew and I just didn't care enough to cover it. But you did great making it not ugly! One of these weeks we will actually ride together.
