Other closing a case hole?

to weld case or use epoxy
today i was clearancing a 66e case for 87mm pistons
well if you smooth the lip out you window the case
:bananajump:
so to slavage my formerly perfect case what to do?
im thinking have it heli-arced up but if i could save some $ and just use epoxy like when cases are ported through the front cover
there is no stress @ this point but if it leaks then it will eat some $ pistons

I'd say it really depends on how big the hole is. The case doesn't really see significant temperatures or pressures so epoxy can work and has on my ski. However, if it's a large hole, you might want to consider more reliable alternatives on such an expensive engine.

Welding is required when dealing with anything with the exhaust and high temperatures.
Epoxy will work fine, just be clean and spread the load out. (large patch for adhesion)

Clean the area down to bare aluminum and use Devcon Aluminum Epoxy, it comes in liquid or putty.
