Cleaning piston top?

Is their some way to clean the top of the pistons?
Mine are solid black... Been trying to turn it and currently lean. I would like to clean the pistons and read the wash.. But i cant read the wash if the tops are a good solid black:dead1:

soak them in carb cleaner it will remove the carbon.

i plan on bumping my jets up,, just wanned to clean the tops somewhat. I mean they are BLACK.

shooting them with some carb cleaner, lets see how they tuen out..

Soak a rag and lay it on top of the pistons for a while to soften it up .

Carb cleaning worked decent. I think it was more the fact on how hard i was scrubbing. :shooter3:

I would spray the tops, lay a cut tshirt circle over the top and soak it down... it would everprate in about an hr. so every 30mins or so i would go out and soak it again. did this for 2hrs.. and went to scrubbing.. and repeated.

Water will clean your pistons tops like brand new if you pore some down the carbs while the engine is running. :fingersx:
