cleaning gas tank

So i got a used gas tank and inside is pretty dirty...... What can i use to soak inside to get this thing lookin good and ready for gas to be put in

try just using a little bit a gas first and see how that does, before trying any solvents etc. sometimes a little fresh fuel will go a long way.

thx guys ill try gas tomorrow if it doesn't clean it fully ill try one of the other cleaners mentioned

Tide and hot water works.

if it's brown there isn't much you can do to fix it.

I know im talking about inside the tank not anything to do with external color

I heard some people use bleach and have had good results!

I used acetone in mine with good results. Dissolved all the nasty oil mess inside it. Pour in in, swish it around. and pour it out. Then let it sit and dry out overnight.
