apply bleach, then apply acid Toilet bowl cleaner is fine.... don't breathe the fumes or you will get sick or worse....

Degrease it first, and then do this.

If you have a few days and want it to look BRAND NEW.

Get enough cheap bleach to fill the tank and full submerge it (6-7 gallons @1.50 each isn't too bad.) and dump in a couple of those oxyclean containers, and wait. It will come out looking like it came from Yamaha. Again, don't breathe the fumes, and leave it in a well ventilated area.

i wont to see a before and after pic..
see how white they are really getting?

I am planning on doing it in the next week or so. I will take some before and afters. I almost wish i didn't post about it at all. Chlorine gas is very dangerous, and I can't stress how potent only a couple full breaths of it would be. Not to mention that is someone smells it around your neighborhood, bad thing could happen with you in jail being the most likely... then you have to worry about small children wondering over and messing with it, ect....

Straight bleach will actually lead to yellowing of the plastic. You need to use a solution of bleach and water.

I used simple green on the inside and scrubbed the outise with powdered Ajax that contained bleach and it worked well.

I've gotta do the SN tank next and I am tempted to try Gil's famous oven cleaner trick.

It's not something that is going to happen instantly, and as a matter of fact, I'd say it will yellow it over time at the same rate at gasoline. So with that being said, can we put gas in there, or gas + water? :D
