650/X-2 Clean a Waterbox?

Would it be a good idea to clean a Waterbox and a whole exhaust system? My ski bogs out and take a while to open up to full speed, I know its the Waterbox filling up and I'm thinking there is some gunk slowing down the ability for the water to be blown out. What do you guys think?

Yeah I dont think its waterbox related, probably a carb issue. Open the low speed screw a 1/4 turn and go from there. Also like the previous poster said check N/S,were they replaced upon rebuild?

There's nothing going through your waterbox that would cause it to clog. The holes in your cooling system are smaller than the baffels in your box, so it's pretty much impossible to get anything hung up. Old oil residue would create a layer of filth but wont kill performance. You could dry out the box some with a Jetwork Flow Control Valve, but the problem is not from your waterbox and would not be corrected with a flow control valve.

That is probably it, is there any way it's just malfunctioning and I can just open it up and fix it or do I need a new one? Where can I get one for a stock 650 carb?

bikebandit.com has a lot of parts for stock stuff. If you are running a stock carb, you might want to look into a 38 or 42mm keihen or a 44mm mikuni.

You could crack your carb open and inspect (under a magnifying glass) and clean your N/S to make sure it is 100% clean and smooth. Also check the little rocker that sits on top of it. Sometimes they get a little divot anfd the needle can get hung up. Carefully sand out the divot area so it's smooth again.
