there are a few little spots of glue and plastic in the corners, but we'll call the hood gutted for now. I used a bernz-o-matic torch to quickly hit the glue and plastic and it helped A TON to soften up the green glue (a.k.a frozen concrete)

what's left after all the fun? a tray full of hood guts! :Banane01:

I forgot!
i'm going to run a single powerbomb, the dual would be too much $$$. having a bugdet sucks, there are so many things i'd like to do but you have to stop somewhere i guess. i'm not sure about the manifold, can I run a stock manifold with the powerbomb? if not what would you suggest?

hmmm i am not sure about the single on the 61x cases. I ran the single powerbomb on my 62t so ya......not sure what to tell ya except get some 62t cases lol, i don't know if anyone make new 61x intakes but i am sure someone here has one or knows how to modify the stocker to work with a 48mm carb.

Time to get this thing done! My buddy and I took up his new 07 sxr to the lake yesterday and I realized how close we are to riding season.

I cut out the top vents on my hood and did some more reinforcement/cleaning prep work in the hull since my biaxal is on the way from uscomposites. It has to be the first time this hull hasn't had sand and grime in it in a looong time.

Tonight i made my hand hold template and traced them onto my hood. I only traced two per side but they'll end up being four per side after i fiberglass the old vent holes. I marked where the other two holds will be with my fingers. When I water seal around the holds, do you think it'd be best to make one big one from front to back around all the holds like romack or just do individual seals like icerocket did in his build?

Just curious, what is the elevation in Boise? (or at the lake where you ride). What compression are you looking for pump gas or race gas?

Last night I filled the bond lines with foam. I made sure I put extra on there so when i sand I can get a nice flat surface for when I lay the biax. All my reinforcement stuff should be delivered today so I hope to lay one side today and do the other tomorrow.

note to everybody = wear good full face tight googles when you sand down the foam  i went overkill when i foamed the bondline and i spent too much time this morning with my angle grinder sanding it down flat..my bad :cheer: i'm not totally done sanding it yet but the extra 3 inches I foamed are finally gone.
