Chris Riley @ jetskinews hurt

Hello everyone, Melissa Riley here. I wanted to say thanks to everyone for the kinds words and the get well's. The fruit-flower basket came today and it was great. That was very nice of you all! Chris is doing well post surgery. When I had to leave this evening he was sitting up watching jack-a$$ on MTV. His is still in alot of pain but in good spirits. He will need at least 1 more surgery we still don't know for sure. Taking it day by day.

Take care everyone,
Melissa

It sounds like he's under good care. There are people in our sport that have come back from major injuries to ride again, like Chris Maros and look at how he rides, so Chris can do it too!

From Chris:
Well, I'm home betweek surgeries, super duped up to relieve the pain to please excuse the spelling errors.
I broke my leg in 5 places, we were out jumping boat wake last Tuesday evening on a really nice flat day. I hit one going way too fast I guess, cuz when I landed, my left leg basically crushed under me. I lost an inch of my legs that they will be grafting into place during my next surgery currently scheduled for mid week after this one. I'm having to take 8 different meds per day along with 2 cleanings.
I landed the jump, so I don't have a bunch of other scrapes or problems, just the leg.
I'm really sorry I wasn't able to make it out to anything this weekend, I hope everthing went well and eveyone had a great time.
A bunch of the guys came over today, that was super cool, got some cards and stuff in the hospitol including a fruit flower basket thing thatwas really neat from the guys @ X-h2o.com. THanks alot guys
So this is gonna put me out for a pretty long time, the doctors are saying 1-2 years, I seruously doubt that, but time will tell.
Thank you everyone for your support

Another message from Chris:
Ok, Good news first. Surgery is scheduled for THrusday morning, and I should be in the hospitol for about 5 days. Bad news, 3 months no pressure on leg, they are hoping to have me walking with minimal pain within a year, prolly never run again period. I don't really know what much else to say, but thanks everyone for your kindness and support in the last 15 days. I'm gonna get thru this, and screw them doctors, I'll make a full recovery within 9 months to a year I bet.
Peace and I love you guys (morphene kickin in I see!)

We need to get him out to the races next spring, just to keep his mind in the game.

Hey Melissa, I don't know if you remember me from the Blowsion Beach Party... We all went from Joes house and so on... back in 2003.. Well anyway, tell him Sara and I wish him the best and hope everything goes well... Regards - Nick
