Don't know what the deal is with this problem.

For over 2 years, I've been using nothing or grease, and 55-70ftlbs torque. Never a problem.


Preventative measure . . . . you only gotta lunch a cover once to want to cover your arse. 5 cents worth off RTV buys a lot of peace of mind. IMO

I'm big on using chemicals during assembly . . . . . they don't cost near as much as hard parts !

You check your flywheel bolt, case bolts and cylinder base nuts regularly ? . . . . . . . damn that's hardcore !

Seriously though, everyone has a routine that works for them and that's fine . . . . . . I'm not saying my way is "right" . . . that's just my routine and I feel it's the reason I don't have a lot of failures.

no matter what, I think maitenance is a part of motorsports. Every form of it. If someone doesnt like working on stuff, they should take up golf. No offense to anyone that does chase the little white ball across vast acreage. :biggthumpup:
