Ok guys does nobody care?

You asked "what is it that you would like to see in the carbon, kelvar, aftermarket world" . Well I believe any hood maker (24-7, Blowsion, WDK) will make you a hood in carbon if you request it, and pay for it. In the carbon/ski world there is not really anything new under the sun. You can get complete hulls, hoods, poles, and pipe chambers made out of carbon.

You may want to gear your freestyle mods towards a motor. Or am I missing the point?

No your not missing the point but. Im just wondering what you guys would like to see. That may be different that the stuff thats already out there. ya know . Im lettin you guys say what it is youd like?

Let's see....

Rear Side Exhaust ---> Check
Scupper and one way valve ---> Check
footholds ---> Check
4 hold hood ---> Check
RN pole (-6.5") ---> Check
lowered bracket area ---> Check
Front Sponsons ---> Check

What else do you want?

:dunno:

Unless your crazy like myself, generally SNs are starter skis that people do not put a lot of money into, so the aftermarket companies tend to not concentrate on them.

Squarenose for the _____

I think the squares handle a bit better than the rounds and are a bit more stable. That's just me. I am building a square because it fits my needs more... a good tough rec boat that handles ok. I'm not going to be attempting flat water back flips anytime soon, or barrel rolls in the surf.

Hubby and I love our squares. We initially got them because they were the right price. We have since ridden many rounds, as well as other boats, and prefer the way our squares handle. Perhaps it's the "already" lowered nose? I'm not exactly sure why they feel different, but they do and I prefer squares. Might be just what I'm used to, but there it is.

GASKETS FOR CHAMP BRAP!
Not to get too off topic from your subject, but I always thought this was a great explanation from RiverRat about the top deck shape differences. This coincides with my experiences from going from square to round also:

One aspect of a build page that I like to see is when people expain why they make the choices they do durring the build process. So I will take a few moments to do so.

Observations on the Squarenose Hull for Freestyle

Some guys are perlexed at my decision to sell the squarenose hull I spent allot of time building. It was a nice hull for sure and it was very well balenced. However, although the bottom decks are the same as a round nose it did not handle the same at all. I found that the squarenose had better lateral stability and (possibly due to 155lbs hull weight) could carve better than a roundnose with the same mods (short plate, 201 grate).

Although I liked the better handling of that particular boat I was not to keen on the shape of the tray. Turf wise I should have added padding on the top of the gunwals, my arms got a fair amount of bruises hitting those. The ski also handled well in the air. It was fairly flickable due to the added power so that was anouther positive aspects of the hull.

The Negative, my subjective observation

Anouther difference I found between the squarenose and the roundnose was how they handled under water. The square was not that forgiving when you enter the water. I achually called my boat the "shovel nose" b/c once that nose enters the water is it will not pop up like a roundnose has a tendency to do. Likewise, when you enter the water inverted the staright side profile makes it less forgiving in trying to complte a rotation. On a round I found that you could finish a rotation under the water w/ ease but the square unless you were 3/4 there it felt like once you entered the water the rotation would try to stop and I felt like I was continuously fighting the ski in those situtations. That being said the square is still a great hull, I was just in a good position to purchase a aftermarket hull so I jumped on the opprotunity.

I will always keep my square around forever, but I dont call it the Duckbilled Platypus for nothing! lol

Nope, the SN hood is quite a bit taller than a WF hood....

I was surprised when I had them side by side.

Rick, that makes no sense, the WF hood is lowered, of course it is lower than a square, but put a stock hood on your RN and compare it to your square. Plus the shape of the SN hood works good for hood tricks, real balanced.

The Good Old Days
All I know that there is someone working on a lowered hood and matching nose piece for the SN and I want it.

Call me a retard but I think the SN looks better than the RN.

I forgot!
i would like to see a retractable tow cable that mounts below the tray and above the pump. kinda like those dog leashes that alway roll back in, it could be carbon or alumm what ever, i just think it would be handy to just pull out the cable and click it on to the ski in tow.
