i put 1 at TDC, lock the crank from moving and try my best :) 2 people is the way to go but it can be done alone.. also it sucks when the motor is still in the ski

If the motor is out, there is a easy way to do it. You take a piston and compress the rings with your hands being careful not to mess up the ring gap, insert the piston into the bottom of the sleeve, leave enough of the piston out so you can clearly see the pin hole. Once both pistons are done you can take your crank and case, lay it on the side and connect the rods to the pistons.... the whole assembly should be laid on its side to do it this way. its a one man job.

how do i know if the rings went on right?:poke:

put each piston at TDC. then with your fingertips, wiggle it to and fro from the left side of the engine to the right.

if you feel the piston-to-cylinder clearance on both pistons, the rings arent bound on the pins.

I just put one ring up to the boss, then sit the cylinder down on top of it and push it in while letting the cylinder push down. when that one goes in, I do the top ring on the other side, then the second ring on each
