Super Jet Changing Main Jet

Hey all,

I have a b-pipe on it's way for my stock 08 SJ, and was wondering how hard it is to change the main jets with the carbs still in the boat? Is it that much of a pain in the arse that i should take them out, or is it do-able?

Cheers!

It's do-able with the carbs in.

But .... don't do it.

Take the opportunity to inspect/clean at least this portion of your carbs.

Sometimes you think you will save yourself some work.....but end up working twice as hard.
Take 'em off.

All it takes is one time.....dropping one of those little screws down under the bed plate.....

i think you will also have to remove those tamper caps to install adj. screws so you'd have to pull them anyway.

No. Not to re-jet.

But it will be something needed when tuning.

If your "plugs" are still in, then you must pull the carbs. To get your new pipe to perform, you will have to do some tuning.

thanks guys.

It has no tamper proof caps so that will be no worries. The only thing detering me was sourcing a new gasket. I'll see how i go.

I was going to leave the 70 pilot in there, as suggested by factory... no?

It was suggested by the builder I was working with. 75 has worked well for me. I've done a couple of ski's the same way.

Your fuel may be different etc... I don't know for sure! I'd go with what your local techs say.

take them off it will be faster and you will more than likley end up taking them off anyways the screw inside like to be stubborn . and it would be a nightmere trying to get the jet in there and also make sure the gasket stays seated while vertical

i allmost guarantee you will drop 1 of the 100 tiny little pieces in the carb into the abyss of your hull
