After using the "Search" button looking for answers im not terrified that i am getting cavation, i was just worried before, anyways over the winter i changed my stock 04 Sj in to
Factory B Mod Pipe
Head w/ 35cc Domes
Dual 44 Carbs
9/15 Hooker (I have the hooker on my 2nd stock ski AMAZING)
Msd Enhancer
Steering System (dont think that part matters)
Stock 701, no porting/boring

Yesterday I jetted the carbs and i'm pretty sure I got them pretty close to bang on 130 M 120 P, I haven't tuned the pipe yet! My ski pulls pretty hard but its cavatting now i'm not 1000% sure but my friend is telling me it is and he is a boat guy, im still learning about this water sport thing(love it so far) When I'm accelerating it sounds like gravel in the pump...not a lot but you can hear it, and when i'm full on the throttle after about 10-15 seconds its like my ski as found more power and you can feel it accelerate very quickly im guessing 2-3 mph but you can defiantly feel it i'm not dreaming, my buddy said its because the cavation is gone at that point.
Now for the question am i using the right impeller if was recommended by dave from improvs and in his hooker thread its the one i should use, as i said i'm new at this and i did use the search button and the pipe isn't tuned yet so ill be getting more power once i tune it and tinker with the cooling system, Would a wet wolf cone help? All Ideas would be great!

Did it cavitate B4 the B-pipe? HI/LOW adjusted properly? How long did it sit w/o running?
Worst case= wear ring & impellor
Best case= adjust carbs.

I rebuilt the entire pump this winter, i didnt need to but i didnt want any problems with it. i put the whole ski together in one shot so i cant tell you if it was cavatating b4 the b-pipe

how would adjusting the carbs work from what i understand of cavation its too much power but like i said im new at this

Stock 701? I've got an '04 as well. What impellor are you running? My B-pipe mod went very well. But the hi & low settings are a bit different than the stock settings. Did you have any trouble getting those brass plugs out?

Yeah, probably need to be a little richer on the bottom end
I would still pull pump and check #30 pump seal because it is suspect

Another possible culprit is a cracked pump shoe. Sometimes people will drive too long of bolt through the intake grate and crack the plastic intake shoe. This will cause cavitation, mostly felt at initial take off like you're explaining. You really shouldn't overpower a 9/15 like that with your set up. I would think it's sucking air somewhere, but if you check the thru hull seal, and the gasket in front of the wear-ring, and it all looks good, then you might want to go to a 10/16.
Good luck,
David
