Cases for stroker

haggis

its raining again!
In the process of building a 5mm stroker engine and have the chance to buy a set of ported 62t cases at a very good price. Thing is they have been machined for a 6mm stroker crank, is this ok for a 5mm or not?

I know the RAD cranks were larger and required a bit more clearance than others, Ive never used one from crankworks so I cant help there.
worst case you would need to have the cases re-machined, but you would have to do that if you started fresh, and there is a very good chance that the crank will fit, so if the price is right Id get the cases

if the rad cranks are larger then the crankworks one
i would not be suprised if you can fit the 5mm crankworks in the stock cases

wax, the 5mm crankworks needs clearance, won't fit in stock case.
The rad crank fits with minor grinding ... as it uses oem rods.

Crankworks uses Hot Rods on their 5mm strokers and the Hot Rod are thicker than OEM rod and with need to be clearance'd to fit.
My guess it should clear a 5mm if cut for a 6mm. But may need some touching up...

Thanks again for the replys, supertune when you say that it may need some touching up, what exactly do you mean? possibly have to remove more material or replace using epoxy?
