Okay I am probably going to start an opinion based argument but wanted to see the majority of the opinions. I know they all have 6m6 bottoms and they are all machined and matched from the factory but can you mix the bottoms any way? Let the arguing begin.LOL

i believe brian onthe other site said sbt does this and does not worry about it affecting the no question warranty

not sure if that is a good or bad thing just something i remember reading

It probably isn't the best idea but I took apart an engine last year that ran great and had mixed halves (I didn't know it till I tore it down).

SBT doesn't match any of their Yamaha cases.

From what I have heard, for a basic rebuild on a stock motor mismatching cases is ok. But it should never be done for a performance motor. Cases are machined togather from the factory and should be remain togather b/c of that. If you do mismatch cases for a performance motor make sure to have the tolerences inspected and machined if necessary to enure a proper and close fit.
