Carpal Tunnel Syndrome

I frequently get tingling/numbness in my hands as I ride hard for extended periods, and need to stop and shake my hands out. This is strictly numbness that goes away seconds after relaxing (releasing grip) on the bars, but the tingling lasts a day or two, with occasional pain at night.

Pretty sure its CTS. Been to the doctor a few times and the normal NSAF (non steroidal anti inflamaotry) medicines are prescribed (Naporxen, Indocin, etc.). Also had some blood work done with no deficencies found. Pain/numbness almost always subsides within a day or two after riding.

Anyone have similar experiences? Curious about treatment. I have heard good and bad about the surgery, but would like to avoid that if possible.

I get that too sometimes. Usually cause I tweeked my back out. Nothing a trip to the Chiropractor can't fix. Goes away almost immediately. It's worth a shot for you and WAYYY better than the knife!

I wake up every morning with pain in my elbow since Pismo, looks like I need to get it checked.

watch your posture at the computer and make sure you get the gel packs for typing and clicking the mouse. In reality, its an overuse injury, so please try to refrain from using the computer an excessive amount.

Probably spine related, you would be surprised what a trip to teh chiropractor can do. I found out i had a rib head out that put pressure on my spine causeing pain to shoot up my neck and down my arm. Just a though. I kept getting RSI in my hand and wrist...then i got a girlfriend...no more issue...with the hand and wrist anyway.

When I was diagnosed with Carpal Tunnel, I had to go to the Chiropractor 5 times a week at first just to keep working.

I eventually got it down to visits once every fortnight, but visits to the Chiro was the only thing that would work.
