I think he is trying to artificially inflate the value of his ski ,of course after the carbon fiber is laid it loses value so this may not work out as planned.

would a totally encompassing layer of CF not totally increase the strength of an incredibly thin SMC hull?

Any layer of composite material bonded properly to the SMC will increase strength,I have some extremely lightweight surfboard cloth here if you want to lay a couple of layers of that on top of the SMC,you pay shipping there and its yours ,I have a whole damn roll lol

Its surfboard cloth probably more along the lines of 2 oz. it is totally transparent when wetted out.

Actually it was mislabeled on EBAY and I bought the whole roll thinking it was something else,me and the seller came to an agreement and they did a partial refund rather than shipping it back,I am just trying to use this stuff up.
