carbon fiber epoxy?

I was looking through all the threads regarding carbon fiber and have found quite a few good tips along the way but what kind of resins work best? same as for glass work or is it different??

When I reinforced my RN with CF I used epoxy resin with a non blushing hardener. I brushed the resin on the inside of the hull and layed up the sheet dry and then worked resin into the cloth with a brush and roller. I chose to use epoxy resin because it will adhere to the different composite surfaces inside the hull. It came out nice and is holding up fine.

west systems. i reinforced my chin pad and left a patch of visual carbon on the top. its seen quite a bit of sun and hasnt faded or yellowed yet. i store inside but its outside all weekend.
if its not going to be in the sun all the time id just go with any epoxy resin

West system is not UV stable,I recommend automotive clear over the west system if it is to see large amounts of sunlight.

2 Pack Epoxy is the way forward... Personally, I would not just use carbon fiber on its own. Carbon Kevlar should be used as it has a higher impact resistance imho.

thanks for the input , I got to looking at prices and carbon/kevlar really isnt that much more expensive(and it comes in cooler colors) I think I will start ordering stuff in the next month or so have it shipped to my house that way it is all there when I get back to the states.
has anyone had any experience with US composites www.uscomposites.com that is where I think I will order from unless there are better prices and service out there.

so the aluzine should be used as a top coat on the carbon/kevlar to give it the nice shiny finished look?
epoxy against hull then lay the fabric then squeegee all excess top coat with the aluzone for a good finish (in a nutshell)
