Carb rebuild dual mikuni sbn38

Just taken the carbs off and need to access the jets but cannot get the cover plates off. Are these thread locked or something?. I feel if I put any more pressure on them I could strip the screw head, Christ this is supposed to be the easy bit. I'm doing it prior to installing a ltd pipe.

I mean...you just unscrew them..

And an LTD pipe? That might give you even more headaches than some screws you cant remove.

I normaly use the right size screwdriver bit and put it in a 1/4 socket with 1/4 ratchet then push down on the ratchet and turn it slow. Works for me and when I think im about to strip it I use and impact driver like buzz said then when I strip it I use a needle nose vise grip clamp and bam!....but then I need to find a screw =/

Is it my guess or are the hi and low speed adjusting caps that are drilled out to access the designated screws not their on the sbn 2011 superjet because I have looked at the diagram and there's just a dust cap on one and a handle on the other?.

Good time to place an order from @JetManiac

Buy the Allen head kits for both diaphragm and pump sides. Can get nice and tight but easier to get off and won't strip.

Also if removing the stock plugs, he has tee screws for highs and lows.

I bought both of the above from him and have been pleased with the setup.

Ok I've looked closely on carb and I can't find anywhere I have to drill. All I find is an adjustment screw for the high (pic1) and a t adjustment screw for the low (pic2). Did they remove tamper caps at manufacture or am I still looking at the wrong thing?. They do say h and l where these are.
