What is the silver circle in the middle and is it o.k. to be creased like that?

Its a plug. The MFG had to clear a way to drill the pilot holes so they made a big hole there and capped it with a freeze plug when they were done.

keV...u think it's ok to be creased like it is? How thick is the plug? I'm assuming it's where it was pressed in but I don't remember any of my othe carbs having that crease. Thanks for the heads up.
