Checked the carbs on my gp1200 and replaced fuel lines. It ran fine for a week. Then out of nowhere it is completly hydrolocked with gas. Gas is everywhere. I removed the carbs and gas poured everywhere. Cylinders and manifold are full.

I'm rebuilding the carbs with new mikuni kits but I'm curious as to which part failed to cause this. Needles? Anyone seen this before?

Leaking needle & seat valves can do this.
The rubber tip on the needle wears over time, causing leaks.
Leave the ski sitting in the sun and the tank pressurizes. If the N&S don't hold pressure like they should, they will leak gas into the engine.

If you do it on a jetski ramp on the lake it makes a pretty rainbow on the water.:icon16:

I'm going to stop by Home Depot to look for some sort of sump pump to suck as much out of the engine as possible. Don't want to polute the lake I live on any more than I already do.
