carb is loading up, smaller pilot jet?

according to the mikuni manual, I have either a leaky needle, leaky antisiphon valve or, too large a pilot, or I need to lower my pop off pressure.

650 engine.

120/145 jetting with stock N/S and spring.

coffman sizzler pipe.

it starts easy and runs well LOTS of RPMS.

but it loads up when not blipping the throttle.
a few blips and its clear and crisp, but with steady small throttle openings, it loads up and bogs for a second.

is it normal to have to go below stock size for the pilot jet?

or should I increase my pop off pressure- HOW DO I DO THIS?

You should try increasing popoff as the first thing. Simply pull the spring out and go one size up.
Shiny silver = 65g
Black = 80g
Dull silver = 95g
Gold/bronze/whatever = 115g

one size up, as in more grams?
is this the tension required to overcome the spring?

where do I get a different spring?

Yup....go up in weight. Any place that has Mikuni SBN parts will have them.
