Carb Coupler?

I know what it is and what it does but dunno why replace the stock one? is it mostly for making two singles into dual carbs on the cheap or is there a purpose?

I did some searching and found some mention of backlash but saw no definitive post on this subjet.

I am rebuilding and rejetting some 44's and saw a coupler when I ordered my jets, it was on the parkeryamaha website so i ordered it but don't know if I really need it...

Maybe i wasnt paying attention but i thought the stock setup had e a big metal clip, is it to reduce the clutter on the carbs so they can be adusted easier?

If you have OEM 44s I would not recommend using it but if you have AM 44s you'll have to use it for a dual setup.

I end up machining the end of my AM 46s throttle shafts for the OEM adjustable coupling because I hate those couplers and they're nothing but trouble IMO.

If you're going to get a new one, don't get the one listed. Mine cracked (the ends are cast aluminum) so I got a billet one from Novi. Maybe $40 shipped and I'll never have that problem again.

I had saw you ordered that one, If I was gonna get one, it looks the toughest. I have never had alot of luck with set screws on anything, kinda wondered how a vibrating part on a ski would be any different
